It sounds similar to a hole where we insert a battery to a laptop has grown a fault.
What do we think? Answer below!
Unboxing and initial demeanour during a Acer Aspire One 721 mini-laptop. It has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 processor, and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics.

Remove the battery then plug in the charger. If it boots up then the problem is not with the charger, but its the battery. Try a different supplier for your battery’s it might be defective products/
Acers are prone to breakage. You should see if you can take it back and get a refund. Or see if you can get another chord for it and see if it works then.
It sounds like the damage where you attach the battery to the laptop has developed a fault and error.
@kochiyose12 Windows 7 with all new computers is a permanent copy, with key. This machine has Windows 7 Home Premium.
OMG>>>please HANDLE WITH CARE!!!!
Hey to help you out a mini laptop is called a Netbook
is the windows 7 are permanent or just a trial? cause if it is a trial i’ll ripped it up to shred..
@Griesmayer U sure? The ION 2 GPU chip is worse then the first gen ION.
@NintendoUGHH nope, I just checked it’s worse :/
@Griesmayer i think better,
is this similar to the asus 1215n?
This is so god damn boring!
No wonder everyone goes to mac.
Are you able to add an internal Bluetooth module to this model?
@KXEnKO
“K10STAT”
Can give you links for a HowTo per PN
@NedFlanders1976
What is the name of the tool?
@cumulustree
Multiple interesting points. First: the k625 is even @ 800MHz able to play 1080p. So I leave it underclocked and undervolted to play videos. Secondly, @ 1500MHz and undervolted to 0.875V under load, Battery life improves by around 40 min.
@NedFlanders1976 very interesting! what results did you get out of this?
meh, I’m returning mine…. lol… Loved it…. except for the overheating causing intense lag….
Couldnt watch a 1hour movie without it starting to alg avec 30-45min (enough time for it to heat up and overhead)
And while taking notes in class, it started to lag, anf froze for 5mins…..
Very nice notebook, but lagging makes me return it…. I now have a Acer aspire Timeline, which is the same, but without lag…!
i bought a 721 and i love it. i was worried about performance (my main system is a quadcore i7 with an nvidia 9800gx2) but the thing has never skipped a beat in any general usage, even some heavier multitasking. can’t really say the same about all the other atom netbooks ive seen. plus win7 home premium (64bit and you can actually change the desktop background) and dedicated 300 megs of radeon graphics (flawless hd video and pretty aero gui) make this thing even better.
I played arround with a tool that allows to reduce the voltage of the CPU (K10STAT) to further reduce heat dissipation and extend battery life. The K625 has originally a Voltage of 0.775V @ 800MHz = idle and 0.965V @ 1500MHz = Load. Without any problem I was able to reduce these settings to 0.700 V @ 800MHz and 0.875V @ 1500MHz.
acer continues to impress me these past couple years
Thank you for this review, it is very helpful information. I would however like to see a review on 521 vs the 721, I really wanted to know what the difference in the two are.
Thanks again!
Wow this looks good, either this or the asus 1215n. When is this going to release in Canada, or US?
My Asus eeepc 701 died and that’s the one I’m looking at getting
when can we expect a review?
thanks
Very cool. Might have to update my choice of netbook next year since the technology is getting better.
Looking forward to the full review! Thanks, Brad.
i just opened mine a week ago. cool
