This is an Acer Aspire 1551 Netbook with a Dual Core 1.3Ghz Athlon Neo, Radeon 4225, 4GB ram, and using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04. This is a new 2010 AMD height for netbook systems. we am using Crossover Games 9.1 with Wine for installation. It has a little content bugs with a resolution, though is entirely playable alternative afterwards that. The diversion is using 800×480 with all item settings low solely for 3d Animations. Its averaging around 15-20, that is hardly playable. Ubuntu is a batch desktop installation.

The netbook must have a TV Tuner card in it in order for it to access cable TV channels, and if it does (which an Acer Netbook doesn’t), then you have to have a cable cord running from the wall to the plug in the netbook’s tuner card in order to get the channels on your netbook.

I don’t think an Acer Netbook can fit one, so I think you’re out of luck… though you can access shows on http://www.hulu.com for free without going through all that.

Yes, you will need an VGA cable to connect the tv to the computer, and vise versa. Depending on what kind of Netbook and TV you have, the outputs and inputs will either be male of female. To find more information on this, you can go to geeksquad.com or simply to your nearest Best Buy.

@sicksevenTV hey I have the 521 with 4gb DDR3 and windows 7 64bit, I do achieve 30 fps on all low (but HDR kills my frames to 18 :( , how do you get 55 fps?)

  • janolapino says:

@sicksevenTV hey there! i have the 521 too! I get 30 fps all on low… but on medium i get 15 fps (4gb DDR3 ram, windows7 64bit, readyboost 4gb) when I overclock i get 20 fps… but still… do you have any tricks so i can play with more fps?

@theultimo sweet! I have a 521 too. but how do you change the resolution. my guess is that you do it in-game. so you output through HDMI to your tv when you play games or something? also do you received your new RAM? how does it play now if you do?

I played arround with a tool that allows to reduce the voltage of the CPU (K10STAT) to further reduce heat dissipation and extend battery life. The K625 has originally a Voltage of 0.775V @ 800MHz = idle and 0.965V @ 1500MHz = Load. Without any problem I was able to reduce these settings to 0.700 V @ 800MHz and 0.875V @ 1500MHz.

@GcMaRtinii The 5534 has a Radeon 3200, which is a slower clocked Radeon 4200. It could run it in Windows fine. However, max res would be either 1024×768 or 800×600, depending on where the 3200 is clocked.

  • GcMaRtinii says:

Can an aspire 5534 play starcraft 2 easily? please reply

  • theultimo says:

@sicksevenTV I am doing one with Windows 7, it does run it mucn better at 1280×720.

  • sicksevenTV says:

hey guys my aspire one 521 can run this easily @ 30-55 fps at 1024×600 low-mid specs dunno why but i think the 1,7 sinlge core makes the differens. Next time i will upgrading my ram from 1 to 2gb i make an new test then.

    cya

  • theultimo says:

@win616 On windows 7, You could play this at 1024×768 just fine at the lowest details.. The 1.5 should give a modest gain of about 5-10%. The Radeon 4225 is comparable to the 9400, about 5% slower according to 3D Mark scores.

  • win616 says:

thanks i’ve been looking for this test
rather see it on windows 7 though…
do you think the 1.5ghz k625 would make a difference?
